A Day in Manchester

With *everything* that has happened over the last 18 months, trips into Manchester have been firmly off the agenda bit I’m now determined to change that, starting with my latest day in the city.

Where I ate

Refinery Coffee & Bar – I headed straight to Refinery for breakfast, once once got off the train. Visiting on a Monday morning, I’d hoped it would be quiet, with the crowds and queues reserved for weekends only. Luckily, I was right as got seated straight away and took no time in browsing the menu.

I ordered eggs benedict with salmon and a hot chocolate. Both were utterly delicious and the sourdough toast was lovely. Would defo reccomend.

Hampton & Vouis – After spending the morning and early afternoon browsing the shops, I needed a pit stop before the train. I wasn’t quite sure where to go as I wanted a drink and maybe a slice of cake but I was struggling to find nice.. independent coffee shops on the way back to the station, but then I spotted this place.

Super small, with only a handful of tables and more importantly, cake, it was just what I was looking for! I ordered a Portuguese egg custard tart and a smoothie, a Solero and took my seat to chill before my train. Really lovely, would reccomend. The pancakes looked insane too, kinda wish I had to room to eat more!

Shops I visited

I started my day with a mooch around the Northern Quarter. It was so quiet on a Monday morning, so I took my time and loved looking at the street art and indie shop fronts.

The main reason for my visit to Mcr was to treat myself to a new purchase. I am a handbag lover and that has been documented on this blog over the years and I decided to buy a new bebe. I’ve loved the Coach bags for a while and I really wanted a deep green bag, so one long peruse around Selfridges later, I had found her!

The service in Selfridges was great, I had such a helpful assistant and she made the experience of such an extravagant purchase, so nice and eenjoyable. I can’t wait to wear my new bebe over the coming months!
