When a Pinterest worthy eatery or venue opens, there’s always the worry that what they’ve compensated for in decor, there must be some scrimping going on somewhere…either food or drinks.
So, popping along to the newest Insta-worthy launch on Hardman Street, The Florist was a pleasant surprise.
The decor is goals, the use of space is fab and after sampling their Sunday lunch menu over their launch weekend, it’s pretty great too.
You know a venue plans to go big when their launch event takes place over two days, inviting the city’s blend of bloggers and press to sample the drinks menu and try a delicious roast dinner. I think they even said on their Instagram, the cocktails were truly tested.
We headed over on Sunday afternoon to road test the roast dinner menu – beef, pork, chicken, lamb and a veggie tagine took centre stage on the menu and an assortment of sides – we opted for the creamy leek, garlic and make and carrot and turnip mash to sit alongside our beef and lamb roasts.
Let’s talk drinks.
On arrival, we were offered bloody Mary’s. A nice touch, especially for those who had attended the venue on Saturday night and may have felt a little tender.
I opted to try the ‘Peaches and Prosecco’ cocktail. Combining aperol, prosecco and peach, it was dreamy and oh so Insta worthy. Complete with fresh flowers on the glass, very inkeeping with the pretty interiors.
Darren went for a glass of merlot; a necessary addition to any Sunday lunch. Rich in flavour and with a varied wine list to browse from, he was happy with his choice.
And to complete our meal, we finished with Apple crumble and vanilla custard to share. Morerish, sweet and with chunks of Apple, it was a delight.
Throw in the dreamy decor, a food menu that takes you from lunch to late evening and so many drinks on offer, The Florist is set to become the place to be in Liverpool.
