If you’re a regular reader of Ruth Writes or indeed the many amazing #livbloggers from across the city, you’ll be more than aware that Liverpool is the city visit for the day, as well as hit the shops and see the sights. Whatever you’re in the mood for, you’re bound to find it in a hidden corner of the city, so let’s get started on discovering amazing Liverpool restaurants and more!
I’ve put together a handy guide on what to do with 24 hours in Liverpool and the places I think you need to visit. Whether you’re enjoying a weekend with the girls, dragging your guy around town or just fancy spending a Saturday with your Mum; let’s get into it!
9am – Arriving in Liverpool couldn’t be easier, whether it’s by the main train station, Liverpool Lime Street or Moorfields from the Wirral or the Northern Line. Breakie should always be the first order of the day, so get ready to fill up on a big feed ready for a busy shopping day ahead! Head to Bills, tucked away near John Lewis. With a huge menu on offer, from cooked breakfasts, pancakes and smoothies, you go choose to eat healthily or pig out!
11am – Albert Docks. Take advantage of the quieter mornings and head over to the infamous Albert Dock to take the obligatory selfie and browse in the shops and the museums.
12.30pm – Belly starting to rumble? Make TGI Fridays your next stop. Located on The Terrace above L1, it’s the perfect place to pull up a pew and people watch in the sunshine. If you’re in the mood to go all American, you’re in the right place! Burgers, nachos and delicious cocktails are the order of the day.
1.30pm – Head to opposite end of the city centre and discover the wonders of Bold Street! Packed with cute independent shops and bars, it’s a cove of must-see shops. Wander up to the top of the street to visit the Bombed Out Church. Previously derelict for years, it re-opened earlier this year and has been renovated. A perfect piece of Liverpool history!
3pm – Fancy re-filling your make up bag? Make a beeline for the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar! Packed to the rafters with amazing brands such as Illamasqua, La Mer and Charlotte Tilbury, the MUA’s are amazing and so friendly. Take your time to browse the stands and make those all-important purchases!
4.30pm – Fancy a sit down and another spot of people watching? Head for the Cosy Club. Located above the main shopping street in Liverpool ONE, it’s perfectly poised so you can sit and watch the busy street below, whilst reaching for a lovely glass of red.
6pm –Head back to the hotel to freshen up, get ready to go ‘out out’ and play around your new make up purchases from earlier!
7pm – Your night is ready to begin and there’s no better place to kick it off than The Clubhouse. Back up on The Terrace, this place is perfect if you want to start your night in style! Think cool décor, amazing food and drinks to die for. Personally, I always opt for a glass of Aperol, but it’s your call. Take a seat outside, enjoy the music and let your night begin!
